SETTLEMENT ANNOUNCED THE MEN RESUMING ' HONGKONG, Sept. 28. The Shanghai bus and tram strike in the International Settlement was settled to-night after lasting a week and.causing the worst transportation tie-up in the history of Shanghai. Services are being resumed from today. It is not announced whether the bus and tram strike in the French Concession is settled. Nearly 1000 coolies in the Public Works Department settlement returned to their jobs. It’is estimated that 8000 were on strike, that the daily loss to the companies was 83,000 dollars, and that the total loss was over 330,000 dollars. Forty-one persons were arrested and. 12 injured in the week’s disorders. Many of the settlement streets were littered with garbage as the result of the coolies dumping carts.
