POLICE BALL

Streamers in the colours cf the Police Departmentblue and gold—had been lavishly used and pride of place was given to the Union Jack and the New Zealand ensign. The guests, who were welcomed by the Superintendent of Police (Mr P J. O'Hara) and Mrs O'Hara—who was attired in a gown of blue marocain attractively trimmed in gold, and a corsage spray of gold flowers —included the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs A. H. Allen).
