SEASICKNESS
TO THE EDITOR
Sir,—At the special request of one of the officers with our soldiers in Egypt, and with your goodness, I am submitting again the formula which I indicated in youi columns of August 13, 1937.. This soldier usually was a bad sailor— many on board were bad—but he had cut this formula out of your paper and retained it, and had used it prior to sailing. The result was that he had not missed a single meal. He is anxious that other " boys" should have the same opportunity. Will you therefore be good enough to find -space for the formula. It is as follows: Bromide of soda, 8 drams; bromide of ammonia, 4 drams; peppermint water, 6 ounces. ' A teaspoonful in a wineglass of cold water before each meal and at bedtime for three days immediately ~efore- sailing—none after sailing. Take most particular care not to partake of rich foods or drinks. The remedy is not of a laxative character. This quantity is sufficient for two persons. I have had innumerable instances of the success of the formula,. but it is an axiom that the same kind of medicine may not secure relief for the same ailment in different persons. This may be.the experience of some. This formula has also proved completely successful for car sickness and train sickness. —I am, etc.. W. J. Bardsley. St. Leonards, June 28.
