Included in ■ this amount' is a donation of 1 £IOOO from Mr and Mrs J. E. Hewitt (Mangamaire); a loan of £4OOO from the Heretaunga Co-operative Dairy Company, Hastings, for the duration and 12 months; a loan of £ 1000 from the Onehunga Perpetual Land, Building, and Investment Society, fo.r the duration and six months; and a loan of £IOOO from Mr W. Walker (Dipton), for "the duration. ; 'wi i . FREE LOAN OF £50,000 (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 18. The trustees of the Auckland Savings Bank have decided to lend the Government £50,000 free of interest for the duration of the war and six months after. This notification has been forwarded to the Minister of Finance (Mr Nash), by the president of the bank, Mr Ei Anderson. LOAN OF £IO,OOO (Per ;UkiTED Press Association) • INVERCARGILL, June 18. The Southland Building Society at its annual meeting of shareholders tonight decided to lend the Government £IO,OOO, free of interest, for the duration of the war and six months after.
