A double drowning occurred at Waiharara yesterday, the victims being Ramsay Gordon Steel, aged 18. and Keith/Jackson, aged nine. They went to Lake Waiparera on their bicycles and 'when they did not return a search disclosed their cycles and sandshoes on the lakeside. A small flat-bottomed boat was Trussing, but was subsequently found in good order on the opposite side of the lake. There , was no sign of the youths.
