OTAGO PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT OF COMMITTEES A meeting of-the executive of - the Otago Provincial Patriotic Council was held yesterday, the Mayor (Mr A. H. Allen) presiding. • \ ■ ” Appointment of Committees Revised committees were appointed as follows; — Finance.—Messrs E. C.' Hazlett (chairman), W. R. Clark. R. A. Johnston, A. Thomas, W. B. Taverner, and Sir Percy Sargood. * , Appeal Committee.—Messrs James Hogg, W. J. Kennedy, and J. M. White. Publicity,—Messrs H. L. Gibson and J. W. Dove. Queen Carnival.—Messrs Arthur Barnett (chairman), W. J. Kindley, H. L. Paterson. . Dr W. Newlands and Mr J. W. Smeaton were constituted an interim cl'aims committee, pending the settling up of a permanent repatriation committee. It was decided that the committee should have power to act with respect to claims up to a specified amount without reference to the executive. All further assistance would be the subject of recommendation to the council.
