PLAN TO THE EDITOR Sir, —No listener to Mr Fraser last night could fail to have been disappointed by his speech. It was a surprising performance. If civilisation is to be saved, the brains and energy of every man will be required, but rather than accept help from anyone but a member of the Labour Party, Mr Fraser seems prepared to let civilisation take its chance. “Neither now nor at any other time ” have he and his colleagues felt the need of assistance, and yet no reasonable person could imagine that such a scheme as he proposed could be workable even in times of peace. What can we say of a man who, from purely party motives, proposes to introduce such a plan in the present appalling circumstances?—l am, etc., Listener. Dunedin, June 13. (
