AN ALIEN’S DISCLAIMER

[Advt.]

TO THE EDITOR Sir, —It has openly been stated by fellow-students at the University of Otago that I am of German origin, the inference being that I am disloyal to Britain and the Allied cause. These imputations are without foundation, and I strongly resent them. In fairness to myself I publicly state that I am g Norwegian, my home town being Trondheim. At the outbreak of hostilities between the Allies and Nazi Germany I offered my services to the New Zealand Government. The Government did not avail itself of my services. , owing to the fact that I was not regarded as an Allied subject. I have now enlisted for service with the Royal Navy. Proof of these statements may be found at the Dunedin Police Station. — I am, etc.. Erling Sliper. Dental School.
