“SWITZERLAND”

BRILLIANT ICE BALLET The memorable sight of graceful and entrancingly beautiful ballets skated on ice instead of danced on boards captured the fancy of the large crowd who attended His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday night for another presentation of “ Switzerland ” by the J. C. Williamson company, which has had such a remarkable run of successes throughout the world. The magnificent artistry of Miss Megan Taylor on the ice has made her world famous, and the audience on Saturday was captivated by her brilliant skating and engaging personality. The skating acts are most attractive and the grace and beauty of Miss Taylor’s work is supplemented by the daring and remarkable feats of her father. Mr Phil Taylor. Whose outstanding contribution to the programme is an act on stilts. Other graceful skaters add to the brilliance of the ice scenes. There is plenty of diverting comedy in the vaudeville scenes, which are attractively staged. In fact, the scenery and costuming throughout are features of the presentation, and the large orchestra enhances the production. There will be a matinee to-day and another performance to-night. -
