FORECAST FOR OTAGO CONDITIONS FINE AND WARM The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office In Wellington:— Gradually freshening winds from between north and west. Weather fine and warm, but with scattered rains developing in the far south and west. Sea slight to moderate. DOMINION FORECAST ANTI-CYCLONE OVER COUNTRY The following is the official weather forecast for the Dominion:— An extensive anti-cyclone covers the New Zealand area, and a depression is located south of Tasmania. Indications are for:— Winds.—Light to fresh and rather variable, but with easterlies prevailing over the Auckland Peninsula, and northerly directions gradually predominating about and south of Cook Strait. Seas.—New Zealand waters: Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate easterly winds and slight seas in the northern portion; strong north-westerly winds and rough seas in the southern portion. Weather.—For the most part fair to fine still, with a few showers in the Auckland Province, however, and with scattered rain developing in the far south-west; temperatures mild to warm. WEATHER IN DUNEDIN The sun shone brightly on Saturday, and the barometer rose steadily to 30.20 inches (1023 millibars). Temperatures were mild to warm, the maximum being 70 degrees.
