KINEMA ENTERTAINMENTS MAJESTIC THEATRE. , “ Bachelor Mother ” Heralded by advance preview reports as one of the season's most sprlgthly and original comedy romances, Bachelor Mother ” will show at the Mayfair Thearte to-night, with Ginger Rogers and David Niven ip, the stellar roles. Miss Rogers in the role "of a department store sales, girl displays, her flair.- for: comedy which she recently employed ,in ‘‘ Vivacious Lady ’’ and “ Stage Door.” NiVen’s characterisation as an adamant store executive is a ■refreshing departure from his roles in “ Wiithering Heights ” and “ Dawn Patrol.” An hilarious mix-up over a-baby forms the axis round which “ Bachelor Mother ” revolves. Holding: a temporary job in the ■store during the Christmas rush, Miss Rogers—in her lunch hour—finds an infant on the steps of a foundling home, and is instantly mistaken. for the. child’s mother The more Ginner protests the more she is disbelieved, and the home authorities report the matter to the store executives. Niven, a vice-president and the son of the store’s owner, investigates for himself, and he. too. is convinced that Ginger is the mother. He immediately shifts her to the permanent staff and gives her a rise. This only infuriates Ginger, who is at her wits’ end to shift the care of the child to others with hilarious conseauences for all concerned. Plans the theatre. OPERA HOUSE “ Call of the Yukon ” “ Call of the Yukon,” adapted from James Oliver Curwood’s popular novel, ” Swift Lightning.” a thrilling epic of the Frozen North, with many stirring and unusual features, is the principal attraction at the Opera House to-day at the matinee, to-night, and to-morrow night. Richard Arlen as a trapper, and Beverly Roberts as a novelist, are excellent in the main roles, and Lyle Talbot in the role of Trader is also excellent. Comedy is furnished by the antics of two bears and a raven pets of the novelist, who refused to be deserted by her. Packed with thrills, inspiring spectacle, and excitement from end to end,. “ Call of the Yukon is ideal entertainment for the whole family. “ Blondle Meets the Boss ” The famous comedy characters of Chic Young’s popular comic strip come to life in “ Blondie Meets the Boss,” a rollicking comedy which supports “ Call of the Yukon ” at the Opera House this afternoon, to-night and to-morrow night. "Blondie Meets the Boss” continues the domestic misunderstandings and financial misadventures of the Bumstead family, which commenced in the first picture of the series, “ Blondie,” but it is even more delightfully humorous. “ The Lone Ranger Rides Again ” will also be shown to-day and to-night.
