EASTER TOURNEY SINGLES COMPETITION A. TAYLOR THE WINNER The Dunedin Bowling Centre’s Easter tournament was commenced on Thursday with the Singles competition, and continued yesterday, when the preliminary rounds of the Fours were played. Although play on Thursday afternoon was interrupted by brief shov ers of rain it was found possible to carry the ' Singles right through to the final, in which .1 Williamson (Caledonian) and A. Taylor (North-East Valley) met, the North-East Valley player winning by 17 points to 16, Taylor was five down at the seventeenth head, but from this stage he fought a great uphill battle, and, after a tie on the last head, got home by tho narrow margin of one point. FOURS COMPETITION SECTION PLAY COMPLETED The Dunedin Bowling Centre’s Easter tournament was continued yesterday, when the Fours competition was commenced on eight greens. Section play was completed on all greens, and the post-section games in this competition will be conducted on Monday. The Pairs tournament will be commenced to-day on 16 greens.
