Tancred's b c, by Bulandshar—The Begum, 3yrs (E. Bartle) 1 Manrico (A. Siinclair) 2 Ajax (H t Badger) 3 All started. Ajax was last leaving the barrier, but ran up to second place between Manrico and High Caste, who made a great run nearing the post, and won by half a head, with Ajax half a neck away third. Time, lnrin 23£sec —a course record. WYNDHAM HANDICAP, One mile and a-quarter. Bankshaw, 7.10 (Mornement) .. .. 1 Royal Jubilee, 8.9 (Hall) .. ..2 Gladstone, 7.4 (Purtell) 3 Eleven started. During the running of the Ingleburn Nursery Handicap, the apprentice jockey Lappin, aged 18, who was second on last year's winning jockey's list, was thrown from his mount under _ a bunched field, and received head injuries from which he died later. TROTTING CHAMPIONSHIPS ICEVUS WINS A DIVISION (United Press Association) (By Electric PERTH, Feb. 11. (Received Feb.tll. at 8 p.m.) At the second series of the interdominion trotting championships the weather was ideal, and there was a great attendance. There was general disappointment over the scratching of Uenuku, due to shoulder trouble, which further developed since his brilliant win in the mile division on Wednesday. Following are the results: — MILE AND A-HALF FIRST DIVISION , Logan Derby (Tasmania), 36yds bhd (Stanford) 1 Master Pixie (New South Wales), scr (Chant) .. ;'...'. .2 Kolect (Western Australia), scr (Kersley) 3 Ten started. Logan Derby made a brilliant sprint through the field under the whip over the last half lap, and won, hard driven, by three yards, with 12 yards between second and third. Supertax was never prominent. Time, 3min 16sec. The winner did a mile at the rate of.2min 9sec, breaking the State record by Usee. The crowd gave the winner an ovation. He scored six points, giving him a total of 10. SECOND DIVISION Moreica (Western Australia), scr (Morgan) 1 Taiga Boy ' (Western Australia), scr (Moran) .. .. 2 Our Globe (Tasmania), 12yds bhd (Lewis) 3 The winner led all the way and won by 12 yards, with half a yard between second and third. Radiant Walla was fourth. Time, 3min 16£sec. THIRD DIVISION Icevus (New Zealand), scr (Goring) 1 Grand Mogul (New Zealand), scr (Anderson) 2 Main Derby (Victoria), 12yds bhd (Butterworth) 3 Ten started. Icevus led all the. way, and won by eight yards, with 15 yards between second and third. Earl Pronto was fourth. Time, 3min 13£sec. Icevus equalled Logan Derby's record in the First Division. „The first five horses broke the previous State record.
