A RAILWAY GARDEN

TO THE EDITOR

Sir,—While at Waihola on Saturday last to witness the regatta I was more than pleased to see the great improvement that.has been made in the station surroundings. On an area which at the time of last year's regatta was nothing but cocksfoot grass and' docks, there is now a beautifully laid-out small garden full of flowering plants and shrubs, surrounded, by a rusticwork fence, making a sight pleasing to the eye and a credit to the makers. That I was not alone in this opinion was evidenced from the remarks made by other visitors, who stopped to admire i.t. i It is an outstanding example of what can be done with a small t>iece of apparently waste ground by willing workers. —I am. etc.. January 23. Garden Lover.
