GOLDEN WEDDING

MR AND MRS JAMES BROWN

WELL-KNOWN DUNEDIN RESIDENTS Mr and Mrs James Brown, of 214 Cargill street, well-known and popular residents of Dunedin, will celebrate their golden wedding on Monday. Mr Brown was the youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs Robert Brown of Dunedin, and he carried on the pastrycook and tea room business of his father for many years before retiring. Mrs Brown was the second eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Andrew Davidson, of Sawyers’ Bay, where Mr Davidson was station master for many years. Mr and Mrs Brown were married on October 30, 1889, at Sawyers’ Bay. by the Rev. John Ryley, and they have lived in Dunedin ever since. There were four daughters of the marriage, of whom are living: Mrs Douglas Williams, of Auckland: Mrs Cecil Giles, of England (who will be present at the golden wedding): and Mrs Gordon Spence, of Napier.
