CONFERENCE CONCLUDED DELEGATES DISPERSE NO STATEMENT ISSUED (United Press Association) (By Electi’lc Telegrahp—Copyright) STOCKHOLM. Oct. 19. The Nordic conference has ended, and the delegates have dispersed. So far no statement has been issued. The four rulers broadcast from the castle. The King of Sweden stressed the importance of Nordic solidarity and the ardent hope that the northern States would be able to contribute to the re-establishment of peace. The King of Denmark struck a note of hopefulness which he said was helped by the loyal co-operation of the northerners. The King of Norway hoped that Scandinavian co-operation and friendship would be a model to the world. M. Ksllio said Finland was determined to defend her independence, to which cause the Scandinavian countries’ support had taken expression in action. NORWAY AND SWEDEN TROOPS ON FRONTIERS LONDON. Oct. 20. (Received Oct. 20, at 6.30 p.m.) The Daily Herald savs that Sweden and Norway are massing troops on their north-eastern frontiers in order to protect their neutrality and to assure the Finns that their promises of support mean more than words. Eight Swedish divisions have been despatched to Noorland.
