JOCKEY CLUB RACES

Although the spring meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club will be comlned to one day, the racing will be more interesting than usual as both the spring classic races, the McLean Stakes and the Dunedin Guineas (J. B. Reid Gold Cup) will be staged. The McLean Stakes is always a popular race as it provides racing patrons with their first acquaintance with the babies of the turf—the two-year-olds. The Dunedin Guineas and J. B. Reid Gold Cup introduced the three-year-olds and possible Derby winners. The fields throughout the day are numerically strong and patrons can look forward to spending a pleasant afternoon at Wingatui on Saturday next.
