Sir,—l shall be obliged if you will rectify a mistake that appeared in my Letter of August. 19. I wrote that I had no reason for. my r letters other than the welfare of the. community, not that I had other reason than the welfare of the community. "Another Subscriber" writes that 1 misquoted the notice in the Library 'hall. 1./may not have exactly used the same -Words, but the meaning ! is alike. You .cannot get books you hear.'about without extra payment., "■ What' difference, is there bet-yveen my statement and that of "Another Subscriber"? I heard a lady say she : will not pay any ..more than her obligation, as' the subscription was increased lately., I haye ; not the slightest -grievance against ; arty person in the institution.-—I am,' etc., Dutie'din, August 22.. .Protest.
