BOXING

OTAGO CHAMPIONSHIPS The Otago Boxing Association will stage the annual tournament for the Otago boxing championships on Monday night. Entries constitute a record, and a fine night's boxing is assured. Southland is well represented. Mr Son Tall, of Invercargill, has a strong team competing, and is confident of annexing several Otagi titles. Entries have also been received from all over Otago and from as far north as Canterbury. The association's policy in equipping itb own gymnasium is proving itself, and several newcomers will take the ring in an endeavour to gain Otago laurels. The association is keeping the admission charges low, and special concessions for women and boys should assist in popularising the sport in Dunedin. The box plan is now open at Jacobs's.
