FURTHER OUTRAGES EXTRA GUARDS ON BUILDINGS (Independent Cable Service) LONDON, Aug. 9. Extra guards were stationed around the Houses of Parliament, No. 10 Downing sti'eet, and other important buildings following a Scotland Yard special branch officer’s revelations of another I.R.A. threat to blow them up. Two packages containing explosives were discovered in the Blackpool General Post Office when the collecting boxes were cleared. The Glasgow High Court sentenced Michael James O’Hara and John Carson to 10 years’ penal servitude each under the Explosives Act.
