ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

TROPHY MATCH (Pkr United Press Association; WELLINGTON. Aug. 9. Because of the difficulty of arranging a suitable date for the match between Auckland (the holders) and Canterbury for the Football Association TroDhy, an arrangement has been made that Wellington, who were beaten by 3 goals to 2 when they played Auckland for the trophy on Julv 15. will play the holders again on August 19. and Canterbury will meet the winners. This suggestion was contained in a letter from the New Zealand Football Association read at to-night's meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Football Association. The New Zealand Cquncil said that if Wellington won they would be required to play Canterbury on August 26. It was decided to send a team to Auckland, and the selectors later announced the team as follows:—Goal. P Turkington; full-backs. B Yeoman S. Haines (captain); half-backs—A Gates. E. Jeffrey and R. Boyes: forwards—R. Quirke. T. Walker. A. Leslie. A. Longbottom and D. Craig: reserve. C. Simon. PRIMARY SCHOOL TRIALS All boys nominated for the B Grade trials are requested to be at Hancock Park this afternoon at 3.30.
