ALLEGED DISTILLERY
CHARGES AGAINST TWO MEN A VERDICT OF NOT GUILT? (Per United Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Aug. 9. The jury which heard charges against Henry Leslie Barnes and Alexander Mcßae in the Supreme Court yesterday and to-day of unlawfully making spirits and of being in possession on May 24 of a still for the distillation of spirits returned a verdict of not guilty on both counts. The case was the result of a raid made by detectives and the Collector of Customs in the bush near Fairfax.
