DEATH FROM TOX7EMIA RESULT OF BED SORES <Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. Aug. 9. A verdict that Mrs Jessie Smart, aged 71. died in the Wellington Hospital on May 31 last from toxaemia as the result of bed sores following injuries received in a motor car accident, the car being driven by Leonard Joseph Stokes, on October 28. 1938. was returned at the inquest to-day. YOUNG MAN'S DEATH CAUSED BY HEART The inquest into the death of John Drummond Dow. a married man. aged 34. who died suddenly at his brother's residence on July 23. was concluded yesterday mornine before the coroner. Mr H. W. Bundle. S.M. Dr E. F. D'Ath. uathologist at the Dunedin HosDital. reported on the result of a postmortem examination he had made on the body of the deceased, and said that death was due to coronary thrombosis resulting from degeneration of one of the main blood vessels supplying the heart muscles. The coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medi' cal evidence. YOUTH FOUND DEAD BULLET WOUND IN HEAD Allan Young, aged 16 years, was found dead in his bedroom about 9.30 sum. yesterday. There was a bullet wound in his head. The body, which was fully dressed, was found lying across the bed. and a rifle was lying beside him. An inquest was opened for the purposes of identification before Mr H. W. Bundle S.M.. yesterday afternoon. KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR YOUNG GIRL INJURED Louise Downing, a young girl, residing at 7! Leith street, was admitted to Hospital at 11 o'clock last night suffering from a fractured clavicle received when she was knocked down by a motor car in Cumberland street near the intersection with Lower High street.
