TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

R. A. Algie, the present Otago champion, will defend his title in the Otago table tennis championships, and, although he has been selected to tour Australia with the New Zealand team, there are several players in Otago who are only a few ( points behind him. S. Archer, like Algie, took up the game only a year or two ago, and his progress has also been remarkable. Other players likely to upset things are L. Brown, F. Foster. W. Fogarty, and N. Brown. Also making an appearance will be Stanton and Brown, the erstwhile South Island Doubles champions. The full list of present championship holders is as follows:—Men's Singles. R. A. Algie; women's Singles. Mrs Monk; men's Doubles. L. C. and N. M. Brown; women's Doubles, Misses Knight and Bennett; mixed Doubles, Miss Bennett and J. H. Pollock. Ample seating accommodation has been arranged at the Drill Hall.
