PROVISION OF BASE FACILITIES PLANS WELL ADVANCED (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND. Aug. 9. In preparation for the commencement of both the Pacific and the Tasman air services, the work of providing mooring, landing, and other ground facilities at the bases in Mechanics' Bay is now well advanced. the fitting of the large new workshops and the unpacking of equipment are being carried out by the staff of Tasman Empire Airways. Ltd.. while at the neighbouring headquarters of Pan-American Airways the gear is being overhauled and commissioned The Pan-American control launch now lies at anchor, and the final work is being. done on the two fast tender? which are- to be launched for the Tasman service.

At both bases night flares and landing lights have been prepared for operation.
