MAN LAUGHED AT WIFE While giving evidence in the Divorce Court, Mrs Edith Miriam Lane-Ryan, of Slough, Buckinghamshire, complained that her husband, Mr Stanley Edgar Lane-Ryan, was laughing at Mr Justice Langton asked the husband to stand up, and when he did so told him to leave the court. Mrs Lane-Ryan was granted a decree nisi with costs on the ground of the cruelty of her husband. Her case, which was undefended, was that he struck her with his fist, kicked her, and tried to strangle her. Granting Mrs Lane-Ryan the custody of the children, Mr Justice Langton said Mr Lane-Ryan had treated hl3 wife with great brutality. " Unfortunately, I did not see his performance in court," the judge added.
