FORECAST FOR OTAGO CONDITIONS DULL AND UNSETTLED The following special weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington;— Moderate to strong northeasterly to northerly winds, later turning to westerly. Weather dull and unsettled, with rain developing from the west; temperatures becoming milder; seas moderate, but rising. DOMINION FORECAST FROSTS PROBABLE IN SOUTH ISLAND The following is the official weather forecast for the Dominion:— An extensive and complex depression covers the Tasman Sea and is moving on to New Zealand. Indications are for:— Winds.—North-easterly to northerly prevailing, turning later to northwesterly or westerly; force light to moderate at first in eastern districts, moderate to strong elsewhere, and reaching gale force in places in the Auckland Province. Seas.—New Zealand waters: Rough north of East Cape; slight to moderate elsewhere, but rising on the west coast. Eastern Tasman Sea; Northeasterly to northerly winds, later tending westerly in the northern portion; force moderate to strong in the northern portion, with rough seas; moderate in the southern portion, with moderate seas.

Weather.—Dull and unsettled in western districts, with rain in the northern half of the North Island, with some heavy falls; elsewhere fair to cloudy at first, but rain developing in western districts, and scattered rain, extending over most of the Dominion within the next 24 hours; temperatures becoming milder, but some frosts probable, especially in the South WEATHER IN DUNEDIN The weather was fine yesterday, with a light breeze from the north-east. Conditions during the morning were fine, but showers fell in the afternoon, the wind being fresh and moving from the west to the north.
