GREAT MASS FLIGHT

BRITISH BOMBING SQUADRON TO FRANCE AND BACK (Independent Cable Service) LONDON, July 11. The greatest mass flight known will shortly be undertaken by 200 R.A.F. bombers flying in waves of squadron formation from English airfields south-west to France as far as the Franco-Spanish frontier and back to England non-stop. The distance is about 1200 miles. About 1000 men will be in the air together. Britain has become too small for training flights of the R.A.F. standard 200-300 miles hourly longrange bombers. Twelve squadrons of medium and heavy bombers left their stations today for various districts in France. All are scheduled to return without landing. AN IMPRESSIVE-FLIGHT LONDON, July 11. Twelve squadrons of heavy and medium British bombers made an impressive formation flight of five hours from home stations to Bordeaux and back without mishap, generally at a height of 6500 ft.
