BRITISH DRAMA LEAGUE

PLAY FESTIVAL The committee of the British Drama League for the Otago area has secured as its judge Miss Ngaio Marsh for the play festival, which will be opened on Wednesday next. The festival, which has been a three-night one for the past three years, has had to be extended to four nights to accommodate all the plays offering. The teams come from a wide area, Oamaru, Kaitangata. and Balclutha representatives being among the entrants. Twelve acting groups are offering about 15 plays ni the two tirades, and this year comedy has a good nlace in the programme. In order to make attendance easier, the committee has kept the season ticket price low, the price per night working out at less than last year. Further particulars are advertised.
