NEW DEFENCE PLANES

CREWS FOR FLIGHT TO NEW ZEALAND AIRCRAFTSMEN SELECTED 'From Oun Parliamentary Reporter* WELLINGTON, July 11. The Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones) announced to-day the selection of the following airmen to proceed to the United Kingdom to become members of the crews during training and on the flight to New Zealand of the Wellington aircraft:—Aircraftsmen G. O. Perrott (Wellington), F. M. G. George (Auckland), T. G. Smith and N. Murray, wireless electrical mechanics. and Aircraftsmen G. H. French and T. J. Goodhue (all from Wigram). wireless operators. These airmen will leave for England by the Rangitiki on July 27. and will be posted to the New Zealand Squadron, which has been formed at Marham, in Norfolk, England. They will carry out preliminary training with this squadron before acting as wireless onerators and mechanics on the flight to New Zealand towards the end of this year.
