JEWISH REFUGEES
SETTLEMENT IN AUSTRALIA ONE HUNDRED SMALL FARMS MONEY FROM ABROAD (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY, July 10. (Received July 11, at 1.40 a.m.) Mr Paul A. Cohen, founder of the Jewish Welfare Society for Refugees, arrived by the Mariposa from a tour abroad. He said he had arranged for large sums of money which would be applied to land settlement *ar refugees. The money was being provided by Jewish communities in America and Britain and it was hoped to settle refugees on 100 small farms in Australia. Mr Cohen added that he had visited Palestine, where Jews of any age and any profession had readily adapted themselves to the land. The majority were bound to make a success in their newly found occupations. Training centres would be established in various parts of Australia in anticipation of well organised Jewish colonisation.
