The first "To Let" sign seen in Gisborne for a long time is at present well displayed on a building in the course of construction near the Oval, and (comments the Gisborne Herald) is an amusing allusion to the housing shortage. The sign, however, is hardly likely to arouse much enthusiasm on the part of house-hunters, unless some drastic change is made in Government policy in the immediate future, for it Is displayed on one of the largest buildings ever constructed in Gisborne. the intermediate school. The sign is prominently chalked .in large letters on a black background, and amuses all callers.
