WEATHER FOR APRIL

recordings of the month CALM CONDITIONS PREVAIL The rainfall total for the month of April was 1.17 inches, which is a little below the average for this month. Rain fell on only 12 days, the falls of consequence being .28 inches on April 18 and .23 inches on April 3. Calm weather prevailed almost throughout the period, with odd days of light north-easterly or south-west-erly breezes. The sun shone for shorter periods, but the month’s total was 154 hours 20 minutes, compared with 125 hours 30 minutes for March and only 96 hours 15 minutes for April of last year. The total was the highest for April since 1930, when records were first taken at the Daily Times Office. The average maximum temperature was 63 degrees, reflecting generally mild weather when compared with 64 degrees for March and 63 degrees for April last year. The average minimum was 47 degrees, compared with 51 degrees in March and the same figure for last April. The highest temperature recorded was 74 degrees and the lowest 38 degrees.
