WOMAN WINS BYELECTION

NEW SOUTH WALES LEGISLATURE SECOND TO SIT IN ASSEMBLY SYDNEY, Jan. 15. (Received Jan. 15, at 8.30 p.m.) By a clear majority Mrs Mary Quirk, the widow of a former member whose death caused the byelection, won the Balmain seat in the Legislative assembly. She stood in the interests of the Lang Labour Party. Mrs- Quirk ‘will be the second woman to sit in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly.
