SPECTACULAR SUPPRESSION CREDIT DUE TO GOVERNMENT ENTOMOLOGIST (Per United Press Association) NELSON, Jan. 13. With reference to the report of the North canterbury Farmers’ Union regarding control of the white butterfly. Dr Miller, acting director and chief entomologist at Cawthron Institute, said there was a misunderstanding a_ to whom was responsible for parasite control of the white butterfly. It was very often thought that this outstanding piece of work was done by the Cawthron Institute. It could not be too widely known the l the credit was due not to the institute but to Mr John Muggeridge. who, as Government entomologist, was solely responsible for the introduction and establishment of the butterfly parasite, which had resulted in such a spectacular suppression 0* the pest.
