A MARCH ON LONDON

FARMERS AND DAIRYMAIDS PETITIONS TO BE PRESENTED (Independent Cable Service) LONDON, Jan. 11. To claim attention for their demands on the Government for help in the agricultural industry. 5000 farmers, dairymaids, and labourers plan to march to London on February 1, Petitions will be presented to Buckingham Palace, the House of Commons, and Mansion House. A mass meeting at Ipswich passed the following resolution:— “ Unless the Government takes steps to provide that our produce prices bear a fair relation to production costs, we pledge ourselves to do everything to oppose the return of the National Government.” The organisers of the march state that 50,000 farmers were willing to participate. “We do not want a riot, but anything might happen if they all go to London,” they added.
