BRITISH AIR MISSION
PLANE PRODUCTION IN AUSTRALIA SUGGESTED VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND LONDON, Jan. 11. It is possible that the British Air Mission which is going to Australia will also visit New Zealand if the Government so desires. The members of the mission to inquire into the possibility of the production of aircraft in Australia will be Sir Hardman Lever (who headed the recent mission to Canada), Colonel Sir Donald Bahks (Permanent Under-Secretary for Air), and Air Marshal Sir Arthur Longmore (lately commandant at the Imperial Defence College). The members will be assisted by experts. EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT STATEMENT BY MINISTER OF DEFENCE • (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 12. The London cablegram referring to the possibility of the British air mission visiting New Zealand was referred to the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones), who said that the matter had been considered by the British and New Zealand Governments and an early announcement would be made whether the mission would come to New Zealand or not
