AIR REARMAMENT
THE PRODUCTION OF PLANES SOVIET ORDERS INCREASE (Independent Cable Service) MOSCOW, Jan. 11. _ Because of Italian and German air rearmament, the Soviet has ordered a 100 per cent, increase in plane production in 1939. Eight new aircraft plants are being constructed immediately, , . , The War Ministry has undertaken the “ education of the general public regarding the types of German and Italian warplanes.” Photographs and drawings are being distributed throughout the nation so that the public may instantly recognise any Italian or German planes that cross the Soviet borders.
