RAIDS ON CHINESE JUNKS

HUNDREDS DESTROYED TERRIBLE TOLL OF LIVES LONDON, Jan. 10. The Daily Telegraph's Hongkong correspondent says that 10,092 fishermen, representing 10 per cent, of the Hongkong fishing population, have been killed. A total of 628 junks, valued at £500,000, have been destroyed as a result of the Japanese blockade near Hongkong in the last 14 months. The majority of the junks were registered at Hongkong and classified as British. Sixty pr cent, of the killed were women and children.
