OTAGO LAND BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board was held yesterday, Mr F. H. Waters (commissioner of Crown lands) presiding. Others present were Messrs C. J. Inder, D. J. Ross, J. S. Adams and C. W. Stuart. The case of R. E. Stone, sections 78, block VIII, 28, block XII and 19, block XIV, Moeraki S.D., Makareao Extension Settlement (area 744 a lr Op) was submitted to the board in order that the board might note the lessee's acceptance of renewal of a small grazing run.—Acceptance noted. Clara I. Hopewell applied for permission to occupy section 14, block XVI (Ocean View Subdivision) Dunedin and East Taieri S.D. (30.9 p), being area at present held under miscellaneous licence by John K. Buchanan. —Miscellaneous licence cancelled and permission granted to Clara I. Hopewell to occupy the area from year to year- at an annual rental of £ 1 from January 12, 1939. Application for Land The commissioner submitted for consideration the application of T. J. Allison for a renewable lease of section 34, block IX, Tarras S.D., area 2a 2r 23p.—Application refused in the public interest. Applicant to be offered a yearly licence at a rental of ss. Transfer Run 7 of 23 Kurow S.D., 7440 a Mervyn A. Raymond, Thomas J. Seay and Adelaide Matheson to Adelaide Matheson and Angus G. MacDonald. —Approved. Disposal of Land The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of the disposal of section 51, River Sections East Taieri S.D;, area 2a Or 27p. Year to year right to occupy, granted to C. Brensell at an annual rental of £l, as from January 11, 1939. Permission to Occupy The commissioner submitted for consideration the application of M. Beattie for permission to occupy part section 4 and sections 13/15, 38 and 42/49, block I, town of Ranfurly, approximately 38a.—Year to year right to occupy granted at an annual rental of £3. Commonage Committee The chairman of the Glenorchy Commonage Committee advised the election of a new committee comprising J. H. Forbes (chairman), A. F. Sutherland (secretary), J. E. Reid, S. C. Knowles and W. McLaren.—Noted. Occupation Lease The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of renewal of the lease over section 47a, block IX, Maruwenua S.D., held by Ethel Samuelson; area, 27a 3r 21p.— Resolved that lessee be offered a new lease for a term of 21 years from July 1, 1939. The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of renewal of the lease over sections 27 and 29, block X, Maruwenua S.D., held by W. Bloomfield; area, 26a 2r 16p.—Resolved that lessee be offered a new lease for a term of 21
years from July 1, 1939. The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of the renewal of the lease over section 104, block IX, Maruwenua S.D., held by R. C. Cook and C. E. Adams; area 44a 2r 04p.—Resolved that lessees be offered a new lease for a term of 21 years from January 1, 1939. The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of renewal of the lease over section 125, block IX, Maruwenua S.D., held by H. Lory; area, 11a Or 06p.—Resolved that lessee be offered a new lease for a term of 21 years from January 1, 1939. J. J. Cook; area, 18a 8r 18p.—Resolved that lessee be offered a new lease for a term of 21 years from January 1, 1939. Improvement Moneys
The commissioner submits for consideration the question of the disbursement of improvement moneys paid by the selector of sections 9 and 10, block XXV, town of Roxburgh.—Receiver of Land Revenue authorised to pay the sum of 7s 6d to H. J. Walles, and £265 17s 6d to William Dorward. The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of the disbursement of improvement moneys paid by the successful applicants for runs 682 Kakanui S.D., and 2038 Swinburn S.D.—Receiver of Land Revenue authorised to pay the sum of £BBI 0s 9d to Arthur Preston or his agent, and the sum. of £1024 2s 3d to Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd.
