COMMENT BY MR SAVAGE NO KNOWLEDGE OF FURTHER DELAY (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 9. The New Zealand Government is not aware of any substantial reason why the Tasman air mail service should not be inaugurated before September, This was indicated by the Prime Minister (Mr M. J. Savage) to-day, when asked to comment in an interview on a statement by the Australian Minister of Civil Aviation (Mr H. V. Thorby) that there was little _ likelihood of the service commencing before September or October.
“ I have been hoping that the service would be established long before then,” Mr Savage said. “I am not aware of any substantia] reason for holding it up until then. I was under the impressjpn that the service would be established early in the new year rather than toward the end of it.”
