Jan. 9. “The day is not far distant when England will follow the example of the great cities of North America in pasteurising all milk for human consumption. at any rate in the towns.” said Dr B, Wyn Irwin, medical officer of health, Wellington, who has Just returned from a 10 months’ tour abroad. The plea of the medical profession for “ safe milk.” he added, had received support in the last two years from an increasing section of the educated public. Even the milk producers themselves had been iinfluenced by the public reaction to, and the legal action arising from, the recent epidemics caused by apparently cleanly produced but raw milk supplies.
