AFTER THEATRE PARTY

To mark the close of "The Late Christopher Bean " season the Dunedin Repertory Society entertained the cast and those associated with the production at supper in the Tudor Lounge, Savoy, on Saturday night. Mr G. Z. Lindley, speaking on behalf of the committee, expressed the society s thanks to all who had taken part in the performance, and all who had worked in the theatre to make the season a success. He paid a particular tribute to the work of Miss Ngaio Marsh as producer, and concluded with a welcome to the president (Mrs H. Hudson) after her tour abroad. Miss Marsh, returning thanks, said she had been greatly impressed by the work ot the cast many of whom she understood were making their first appearance in a major production. It had been a pleasure to work with them. Mrs Hudson said she had been very glad to get back in time to see another Repertory Society production, and was very grateful for the welcome extended to her. With Miss Bessie Thomson, she had seen as much as she could of the English stage, including repertory productions at Birmingham. It had been a very enriching theatrical experience Among those Present were:—The president. Mrs Richard Hudson, wearing a becoming frock of black patterned georgette and a handsome mink coat; Mrs Wakefield Holmes, who acted as .president during Mrs Hudson's trip abroad, and who wore a black velvet gown under a black and gold coat; Mrs E. T. Moller, convener of the Social Committee, blue frock with diamante trimming and

short fur cape; Miss Essie Moloney, secretary, flowered crepe de chine; the producer. Miss Ngaio Marsh, whose gown of black crepe had a sash of Fuchsia tonings; Mesdames A. A. Fairbairn, Dora Smeaton, D. S. Chisholm, Maurice Joel. A. C. Stephens. J. L. Anderson, C. W. Adamson, Ron Jones, W. D. Young, H. H. Westwood, O. T. Harris and K. Donaldson, and Misses Pat Hanlon, Isobel Newlands. Wyn Paterson, Mercia Hardman. Jessie McLennan and F. Robb.
