TWENTY-FIRST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
The Strand Salon was o pleasant tiaven from the rain-storm on the evening of Monday, November 21, when Mr and Mrs H. Colquhoun, of St Clair, entertained some 40 guests to celebrate the coming of age of thendaughter Thora. Dancing comprised the major portion of the evenings ent<rlainment, the Palais Glide being a meiry innovation. A statue dance was won by Miss Molly McPhail and Mr John Brown, and a lucky spot dance by Miss Marjory Bell and Mr Vivian Kempthorne. A short toast list was honoured. Mr N. H. Colquhoun (Uncle Neil) proposed the toast of the guest of honour. Mr F. S. Hanger proposed the toast of the host and hostess, and Mr Colquhoun, in replying, presented Thora with the traditional key. During an. interval Mr Archie Jackson sang "Sweet Mystery of Life.' Miss Thora Colquhoun was dressed becomingly in cerise velve and Mrs Colquhoun wore a tasteful frock of brocaded wine velvet.
