OWNERSHIP OF PALESTINE
TO THE EDITOR Sir,—For nearly twenty centuries the Jew has been wandering in the world —the people that remain a nation, and yet the only nation that has no home; 1 scattered everywhere. Yet not absorbed by the peoples among whom they have lived so long; cruelly persecuted; yet not annihilated. Can any- | one deny the evidence of the miracle ,of the Jew? With all their power, they have been unable to execute a treaty because such a thing is always between governments with a head, like king or president or parliament. There must be some recognised national government before a treaty can be executed. Thev are to secure again the right to agree and sign a treaty, for Britain has the mandate still, but is willing to give up the mandate that the nation of Jews may recover its nationhood and have the right to deal with other nations by means of treaty. We do not yet know the final outcome of the Partition plan, yet the Child of God who believes in the Scriptures need have no misgivings in respect to Palestine and the future of the Jews. The title deeds of the land of Palestine are recorded in God's Word. It is to be noted that the land was given by God to the Children of Israel "for ever" and " for everlasting possession." Furthermore, the dimensions of the land are " From the river of Egypt to the great river, the river of Euphrates." It may be by purchase and government policy a Jewish state of very small dimensions may be set up in Palestine, but we know that in God's own time the land that was promised to Abraham and his seed will eventually be settled by the: chosen people.—l am, etc., J. p.
