Friday October 21 (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) Licensing Breach James Hill'was fined Bs, with costs 12s for being unlawfully on licensed premises after hours. Suspension Removed Sydney Tasman Smart, who was represented by Mr O. G. Stevens, applied for the removal of suspension of his driving licence, which had been imposed six months previously on a charge of intoxication while in charge of a motor car.— Mr Stevens said that the police report was a good one, and after perusing this, the magistrate granted the application. Case Adjourned A young man, who was represented by Mr White, pleaded guilty to being unlawfully on premises by night.—Senior Sergeant Claasen explained the circumstances, stating that the defendant had been found in the grounds of Studholme House, but had not been near any rooms occupied by inmates.—Mr White said the defendant had gone into the grounds in a maudlin condition, after drinking liquor.—The magistrate adjoured the case for 12 months on condition that the defendant was of good behaviour, leave being granted the police to bring the case on again at any time.

Motoring Offences 1 A conviction was entered against Walter Allan Hansen on a charge of negligent driving. Similarly charged Merrin Sleeman Carter was fined £2, with costs (£1 4s). For exceeding the limit of 30 miles an hour within a restricted area, Gordon Michael Idour was fined £1 10s and costs (10s). —Similarly charged Henry Gordon Berry was fined 20s, with costs (10s). For failing to keep to the left of the roadway, Betty Roslyn Geerin and Albert Edward Murphy were each fined 20s, with costs (10s), Archibald Frank Anderson and John Arthur Beale were each fined ss, with costs (10s), for parking cars in front of picture theatres. Charged with parking his motor car in front of a vehicular entrance, Albert Lee was fined 5s and costs (10s). William Walter Alexander Isaac Watt was fined ss, with costs (10s), for failing to comply with the terms of his goods licence, and for failing to carry an inspection certificate he was fined 10s, with costs (10s). Arnold Upjohn, against whom two charges of dangerous driving were preferred, was fined £3 10$ and costs (10s) on one count, and £2 10s and costs (18s) on the other. Thomas McCutcheon was fined 10s and costs (10s) for parking his motor car on a prohibited area. For failing to have efficient lights fitted to his motor car, Frank Brunwin Moss was fined 10s and costs (10s). Colin Albert Stanley Horn, an unlicensed motor driver, was fined 5s and costs (10s). Charged with driving a motor car without an assigned number, Walter William O’Neill was fined 10s and costs (10s) and was convicted and discharged on charges of being an unlicensed driver and of failing to have a warrant of fitness for his car. —ln connection with these informations. William Gilchrist Robb was fined £2 and costs (10s) for failing to notify the deputy-registrar of a change of ownership of the car. and James Alfred Boreham was ordered to pay costs (10s) for failing to give notification of having disposed of it. James Arthur Scott pleaded guilty to being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car.—Mi D. A. Solomon appeared for the accused.—Outlining the facts, Senior Sergeant Claasen stated that at 10.15 a.m on Sunday last, a traffic inspector saw the accused’s car, without lights, travelling along the Anderson’s Bay road. He followed it. and on bringing it to a standstill, found that the accused was under the influence of liquor. Scott was taken to the Police Station where he was certified by Dr Harty as unfit to be in charge of a car.—Mr Solomon said that the case was not a serious one, as Scott, despite the fact that he had an artificial leg, was able to walk steadily when arrested. Shortly before he vas stopped by the inspector. he noticed that the lights of his car were on, and he could only suggest that his sleeve must have accidentally caugh the'switch. The only liquor he had had prior to his arrest was about 5 o’clock on the Saturday evenin'* wl en he and hree other men consumed a gallon of beer.--The accused was fined £ls, with medical expenses (£1 Is), and his licence was suspended for 12 months, leave being granted to aoply for removcl of the suspension *ter four month- had elapsed.
