EVE OF FIRST TEST PLAYERS RETURN TO SYDNEY MITCHELL LIKELY TO PLAY (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY, July 21. The All Blacks will return to Sydney from Wellington* to-day to prepare for the first test on Saturday. Mitchell is suffering from mild influenza, but is likely to be fit by the week-end. The Australian selectors have omitted Malone, an experienced test forward, from the Australian fifteen owing to an injured foot, Wilson, the captain, will move from the second row to Malone’s place in the front row. R. Kelly (New South Wales) has been chosen for the second row vacancy. The managers of the All Blacks, from a list of five referees submitted to them, have chosen Mr Chapman, who controlled last Saturday’s game, to referee the test.

TEAM FOR TO-MORROW ONLY ONE ALTERATION BOWMAN REPLACES WILLIAMS SYDNEY, July 21. (Received July 22, at 1.25 a.m.) The All Blacks team for Saturday’s test is as follows: Full-back: Taylor. Three-quarters: Morrison, Mitchell, -Phillips. Five-eighths; Sullivan. Berghan. Half-back: Saxton. Forwards: George, Quaid, Dalton: McKenzie, King, Milliken, Bowman: Parkhill. The team is the same as that which played New South Wales, with the exception of Bowman, who. as a result of his good play at Wellington, displaces Williams. Mitchell has recovered from the attack of influenza. The weather in Sydney continues mild, with occasional showers.
