SAILING SHIP OVERDUE

STATEMENT BY OWNERS CONFIDENT OF VESSEL’S SAFETY LONDON, July 2. (Received July 3, at 6.30 p.m.) The Berlin correspondent of The Times says that officials of the Ham-burg-Amerika Line, owners of the Admiral Karpfanger, expressed confidence that the vessel is safe. It was stated that sailers were often forced by wind to keep from the steamer tracks. It might have been impossible to approach , the land to enable communication to be made. Not until the ship 'was at sea for 180 days would real anxiety be felt, it was stated.

A message from Hamburg on June 24 stated: Anxiety is felt for the sailing ship Admiral Karpfanger, laden with wheat from Port Germain (South Australia). She was last reported at. Cape Horn on March 1.
