Use rn ounce of gelatine to one quart of liquid for making jellies. A teaspoonful of lemon juice put into the water in which rice is boiling will make it white, and keep the grains separate. ■{■ -v- * Blue will never streak the clothes if a small piece of washing soda is dissolved in the blue water. A* A* When cutting off sandwich crusts, cut the corners off first, and then cut in the ordinary way. You will find they cut much easier, and the sandwiches look nicer.
