MORNINGTON SCHOOL

FAREWELL TO INFANT MISTRESS After six years of service as infant mistress at the Mornington School, Miss N. Tyndall, who had relinquished her charge to take up a more responsible position at the Normal School, was tendered a farewell social. Mr F. Tombs (chairman of the Scnool Committee) presided over a large attendance, representing the Otago Education Board. Board of School Inspectors. ex-teachers, the Parents’ Association, the school staff, the School Dental Clinic Committee, and the School Committee. During the evening the chairman, on behalf of the School Committee, school staff. Parents’ Association, and Dental Clinic Committee, presented Miss Tyndall ■ with picnic canteen, and wished her every success in her new duties. Supporting speakers were Mr J. Wallace (chairman of the Education Board), Mr L. A. McKenzie (headmaster), Mr Jenkin (school staff). Mr M. K. Haig (Parents’ Association), Mrs M. Davidson (Dental Clinic Committee). Misses J. Nelson and H. Johnston. Messrs G. A. Turner, W. Lane, and J. Paterson. Miss Tyndall responded. The chairman took the opportunity of welcoming Miss Jenkins, the dental nurse for the newly-erected dental clinic.

Songs were rendered by Miss Christine Wallace, Miss Edna Roy, Mr W. Lane, and Mr J. Paterson. Miss Guyton and Mrs Wallace were the accompanists.
